Return to List Alley Speed Bumps
Posted on Dec 1, 2008
Please be aware that 4 sets of speed bumps are scheduled to be installed along a portion of the alley behind Myrtle Beach Drive. Your HOA board supports this decision, but is not involved in the coordination and approval since alley and street matters fall outside our jurisdiction as defined by CC&R's. The City of Plano regulates speed bumps and has a formal program to evaluate and control their installation as part of traffic calming strategies.
This specific project was initiated directly by some of our residents that have concerns about speeding vehicles in the alley and the safety risk they pose. As required by the city, 2/3 of the 8 households along this section approved of the installation, due to commence in the next few days. The speed bumps will be installed on the eastern-most segment of the Myrtle Beach alley, terminating at Pelican Bay.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind all our residents of the importance of driving within posted speed limits around the neighborhood. Please contact us if you feel there are other safety or speeding issues we should be aware of.
Thank you,
HOA Board of Directors
