Alley Speed Bumps PDF Print E-mail

Please be aware that 4 sets of speed bumps are scheduled to be installed along a portion of the alley behind Myrtle Beach Drive.  Your HOA board supports this decision, but is not involved in the coordination and approval since alley and street matters fall outside our jurisdiction as defined by CC&R's.  The City of Plano regulates speed bumps and has a formal program to evaluate and control their installation as part of traffic calming strategies.

This specific project was initiated directly by some of our residents that have concerns about speeding vehicles in the alley and the safety risk they pose.  As required by the city, 2/3 of the 8 households along this section approved of the installation, due to commence in the next few days.  The speed bumps will be installed on the eastern-most segment of the Myrtle Beach alley, terminating at Pelican Bay.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind all our residents of the importance of driving within posted speed limits around the neighborhood.  Please contact us if you feel there are other safety or speeding issues we should be aware of.

Thank you,
HOA Board of Directors

City Council Rejects Nets PDF Print E-mail

Hot Issue

On Tuesday, March 25th, the Plano City Council rejected a proposed ordinance that would permit golf courses, country clubs, and driving ranges to erect nets that control errant golf shots.  The ordinance, opposed by your HOA board of directors, would have allowed construction of nets up to 60 feet in height with no homeowner approval.  In general, the council was skeptical about permitting any sort of net installation, but indicated it might consider alternative ordinances in the future.  Options that were discussed included horizontal nets or smaller nets up to 30-35 feet.  City planning staff will undoubtedly return other options for consideration in the future.  We will continue to keep you updated on this issue as we learn more.

The Dallas Morning News posted a brief article on this topic on Wednesday, March 26th.

Neighborhood Dinner Groups PDF Print E-mail

As we discussed at the last Homeowners Meeting, we want to start our neighborhood dinner groups again. The format will be groups of 4 couples for a four month period. This allows each couple to "host" one dinner and the host couple is responsible for setting the date, and choosing the format of the get together! It could be having everyone in your home with each couple bring a dish, or appetizers at the host home and going out for dinner, etc.

If you are interested in joining the Dinner Groups - please email Chris Barta at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or call 972-306-9744.
Please reply by May 2nd, so we can get started with our groups!
